1. Matching Process Parents/students and tutors who register with The House of Gurus are matched based on the criteria that they have indicated on the registration form. Matching will be done by the coordinators at The House of Gurus. Both parties will be informed should a suitable match be found, and details of the assignment will be discussed.

2. Registration Tutors must complete the registration form truly and accurately and be able to produce the necessary documents to verify academic qualifications upon request. In the event of inaccurate or false information by the tutor, The House of Gurus reserves our legal rights as well as the right to bar the tutor from future applications.

3. Responsibilities Both tutors and students are to be committed to each other for at least ONE month once the tuition assignment commences unless a compelling reason exists. However, it is understood that tuition is a long term commitment; hence it would be expected of the tutor to be committed until the end of the student’s next semester examination period. Both parties should be regular and punctual for lessons. Any changes in lesson dates and times should be informed earlier. All such changes should be made at the discretion of both the parents/students and the tutors.

All Tutors have to adhere to the following guidelines:
1. Subscribe to and act in a manner in accordance to our values ie RESPONSIBILITY, INTEGRITY and DEDICATION.
2. Commit to the assignment and adopt the A.B.C. approach when coaching the student.
3. Understand the needs and obstacles faced by the student and to help him/her to achieve their desired results.
4. Partner with parents and caregivers in providing the support needed to help students towards achieving the desired results.
5. At the end of the first month, be subjected to an evaluation check to ensure a high level quality of teaching and learning.
6. Remain committed to the assignment and coach students in achieving academic excellence and personal mastery

4. Charges Registration to be a tutor is free.

5. Payments Upon successful matching, a 50% commission of the first month's salary is payable to The House of Gurus. The House of Gurus will collect this amount directly from the parents. The other 50% will be paid to you by the parent after 4 weeks of lessons. For example, for the 1st month, if the TOTAL tuition fees is $200, $100 will be as commission to The House of Gurus and $100 will be payable to the tutor. All tuition fees from the 2nd month onwards will ALL go the tutor as The House of Gurus no longer collects a commission fee.

6. Trial Lessons Parents may request for trial lessons and tutors MUST offer trial lessons upon request. Trial lessons will still be payable. The agency is entitled to receive 50% of the tuition fees, unless otherwise stated or as decided by the agency before or after the trial lesson. Please revert to the agency on the final arrangements so that a FINAL confirmation email can be sent. In the event that the tutor is engaged by the parent after the trial lesson, the contractual period of 4 weeks of which the commission of 50% of tuition fees that will be based on will be the 4 weeks of lessons including the trial lesson.

7. Privacy The House of Gurus aims to do its utmost to protect all tutors’ profiles. We will only release your profile to interested parents who are keen to engage you, otherwise all information are kept in our database for record purposes.

8. Disclaimer Although The House of Gurus screens all tutor records, The House of Gurus and the partners, investors and employees of The House of Gurus, will not be responsible for the quality of tutors. The House of Gurus is not responsible for resolving any conflict or disagreement that may arise between the tutor and student.

9. Modification The House of Gurus may modify any of the terms and conditions contained in this Agreement, at any time and in our sole discretion, by posting a change notice or a new agreement on our site. Modifications may include, for example, fee schedules, payment procedures, and rules. If any modification is unacceptable to you, you may terminate this agreement. Your continued participation in our database following our posting of a change notice or new agreement on our site will constitute binding acceptance of the change.

10. Relationship of Parties Nothing in this Agreement will create any partnership, joint venture, agency, franchise, sales representative, or employment relationship between the parties. You will have no authority to make or accept any offers or representations on our behalf.

11. Limitation of Liability The House of Gurus, its owners and employees, will not be liable for any damages, including but not limited to indirect, special, or consequential damages, arising in connection with the use of this website.
